Brad Wilkerson rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Columbus Crowd
ballclub embarrassed the Detroit Iron Gloves by the count of 11 to
1.
Wilkerson had a big day with his bat. He popped a two-run clout over the
fence in the 4th inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 13th of the
season) in the 8th inning. Columbus simply wore out the Detroit pitching
staff, scoring in 6 different innings.
The win was credited to Jake Peavy(5-3) who went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 1
run. Jon Garland(9-5) was given the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 6
and 2/3 innings.
